I HAVE been stitching ... a bit. :o) Here is my finished Stargazer. It's hard to get a pic (w/out a camera) because she's so big ... just over 24" but I like her. Might eventually remake her on the correct size fabric, I just love the way she looks. I opted not to put on all the beads around her as it's on an afghan, but I might do some sort of border, eventually. I dunno. I was thinking some sort of PR border in a variegated blue might work out ok. I have to do some sort of something with the afghan border else it will just unravel.

And this is one of the new freebies on the Chatelaine website - Snowman's Way Home. I thought it was cute. I did this over the last 2 days, pretty much only the one border to go - well, other than that one tree that is. I opted for silver instead of gold - just cuz - and chose not to put in the moon. I had it, but didn't like it. It's 2 over on 32 ct Silkweaver something-or-other fabric. It seemed to fit. :o) And I wimped out and used beads instead of xs for the stars. I think it fits w/the fabric. (update: wow. this one looks nasty all blown up ... it really doesn't look this bad IRL. I swear!! :o)

OH ... not that I'm much of a fan, but how 'bout them Red Sox!!!! WOW! Even if the Yankees do win this game ... still very impressive!!

OK ... it's been a few days (4 I believe) since an update, so here we have what I've done lately. I try to do a little each day but I'm starting to look at beading the same way I feel about backstitching: a necessary evil, with beautiful results.

I have the entire bottom skirt done, along w/most of the top and the petites looping along the bottom edge of the top. Here we have a close up of 18" of skirt, and not even the entire skirt. She turned out HUGE.
After looking at the laundry list for the St Petersburg I'm not quite sure what I'm thinking of all the beading that's going to be going on in that one. Whoa.

I did however finish one of my PIF gifts yesterday. Now I don't SO bad about not really starting them yet. You know. heh.

Stargazer

After some connection problems I can once again post ... :o(
But on the up side, I have started putting beads on her. It's a little slow going, but she's awful sparkly.
The info is starting to come out on the Chatalaine St. Petersburg. Now THAT puppy is going to be awfully sparkly. Wow. And expensive. Swarovski's abound. I'm looking forward to it though.
Happy day all!

And at 26 days ...

... we have this ... only that little tiny bit there between the purple and the greens. And it's all one color. :o) Then the beads. There aren't specialty threads, just the loads o' beads.
Whoot! I'm on a mission. I WILL finish this in the morning when I get done w/work. Yup. yup. yup.
I just looked back and it seems I can't keep track of my numbers day to day, but I know I started on the 3rd of this month, so that puts me at 27 days as of yesterday, 28 today. Didn't quite make it. But I'm sure I'll adjust. :o) heh
Lovely evening all!

Stargazer

Yesterday's progress. I am thisclose to finished all the thread on her. Very very close. If I wasn't working these 12 hr shifts I might be able to finish her today. bwahahahahaha! 25 days and counting!

Stargazer

Okee dokee ... finally finished the entire blue part of the skirt. I only have the purples to do. Then beads.

I finally got around to switching cab companies. Whole different computer system to learn. But, lotsa work until I get the hours/shifts figured out, so probably not a lotta time to stitch in the next few days, dang it all. I was kinda hoping to hit the 28 day mark on this one as well. *sigh* I'm at 25 days now. Good GAWD these Mira's go fast! heh It'll all work out in the end I suppose. It always does. :o)

Happy evening all!

Stargazer and lots'a pictures !

Update: as of yesterday. I finally finished the left part of the skirt. It took me awhile, jeez. I'm at ... like ... 20 days on this thing. :o) heh I can't get a full picture easily ... I am taking these pics with my cell phone (ex took the dig camera and I really don't see much reason to get a newer one :o) As always, blow it up, she looks better that way.

Ooooohh, lookkee what I got me in the mail today ... chart and all spec threads/beads. It came from ebay but the lady sent some u.g.l.y. fabric with it. Green. Eesh. Didn't go. I'll work out something else.

And I ended up on the other end of the city today and found a needlepoint shop and bought these ... um ... threads ... floss(es)?! I think. The top are Caron's so I know they're threads so I'm assuming the others are as well. I bought the Caron's just they were purdy, but I fell all over the pink/orange ones. They're so soft. Unfortunately they're discontinuing these at this store. But the nice lady told me there is a XS store about 2 miles from where I was at. I'll stop by there someday I imagine. There isn't any LNS's on my side o' town. :o( The closest is about 30 mins t'other side of town. *sigh*
Anyway ... happy day ladies!

Stargazer

Yesterday's progress. I'm gonna finish this damned bottom skirt/fluff sh*t she's got going on if it kills me. Damn it. :o)
By the by: I got a bday card from Anne (feather stitching) today. She sent me lots o' floss and incredibly well timed too, I was walking to the fabric store to get the one color I ran out of when I decided to see what was in the mail. She sent one of the color's I needed!! Incredible timing Anne. :o) Thank you!!
Safe Weekend All

Stargazer

I got a little bit more done. Little, tiny bit. All the snow and ice is making it quite entertaining to get back and forth to class this week. :o) whoooot.

Stargazer

Today's progress. Still not too impressed. :o)
I have a day class all this week as well as working during the night, don't think I'll get much done in the way of stitching.

Stargazer, rant

More progress: 1-13-7 ...

still looks like nothing to me.

Final upshot on Qwest: I still think they're bastards. They have decided that it was fraud afterall. No, they cannot give me the deal I was looking for when I started this because it's now past 12/31. BUT, they did send it to collections. Which they are going to call off now. "But all you really have now is one more hit on your credit bureau and you can't get the deal you were looking for. But since you are now on our A+ list we can offer you a free cell phone with us. ... No, I'm sorry, the service is not free, but the phone is."

Eeesh.

Progress

Yesterday's progress. I did quite a bit, but it doesn't look like anything to me yet. *sigh* Oh well, it'll all come together in the end. Assuming there is an end since I tend to get thisclose to finished with something and then move on to something else. :o\ These Qsnaps are 18" so that give you some sort of clue as to how big she is?! :o)

I just realized today I've only been working on her for 7 days. All this lack o' sleep from being ill is doing wonders for my stitching. :o) Here's an interesting little thing I've found since I've been ill, we have a "little Mexico" type area not too far from here and I've heard rumors but since I'm in need I've found it to be true ... you (well, WE) can buy penicillin from the local grocery store. Granted it's $1/pill, but worth it if you don't wanna hit the doc's for a visit and an rx. Amazing to me.

OoooooOOOOooohhh lookee what I got in the mail yesterday! I got it for my Ornament SAL to give me lotsa options thruout the year. Good bday present for me.
Yup. This is it. Today I'm officially old, in Michelle years. Disclaimer: that is, according to Michelle. I don't wanna offend anyone by saying "Oh my GAWD I'm old at 40! I might as well be dead!" This is just what I think of my life only, not others. I've done a LOT of living in my years. (Did I cover myself well enough there?! :o)
OMG ... What a relief!!! I went to IMDB and checked out the boys from The Covenant and turns out they are all of age, just playing boys that are 17 in the movie. Whew! I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. :o) Also - if you have some sort of spider-phobia, watch with covered eyes. Eeesh. I hate spiders.
Anyway ladies - have a lovely weekend!

More Progress

Progress as of yesterday 1-10. I have all but backstitch and the underskirts to do now. Moving right along.
Movie watch: I didn't work tonight due to weather (ice and snow) so I am instead watching movies.
1) The Illusionist. Darn good movie.
2) The Covenant. Can I just say every sweaty, adolescent fantasy I ever had has been brought to the surface watching this one. Every pretty, new young boy is in this one. Give me the long haired motorcycle rider everytime. My gawd. 'Nuff said. (And now none of you will be able to watch this one without thinking of me being arrested for cradle robbing :o) Whoot!! I still have A Scanner Darkly and Miami Vice to watch. Don't get me started on Colin Farrell, even with a 'stache.
Happy Thursday Ya'll!

Just an update

This was yesterday ...

And this is today's up to date progress. I'm off to work now.

Happy Evening All!

Pictures!

Hey now, lookkee there ... a picture!! On it's side, but it's a pic. This is the top layer of her skirt with quite a few of the ribbons. As of this morning.

This is about 10" tall on the afghan. The 'ghan itself is too heavy for my hoops so I'm using a q-snap. Awkward dealing with it, but I'm sure I'll manage. :o)

Here's a pic of the St. Petersburg I signed up for. It starts on 3/7 this year. (I dunno why the background is black, it's not like that in the other pic. :-\ But if you click on it, it's not black. )

I believe that's it.

Happy Weekend all!
