BEADS!! Beads beads beads

I got these beauties from Karin of Sparklie Things for my PIF gift from her. I'm guessing she MADE these! Incredible huh? If you click the pic you can see the great work she put into them.

Aren't they beautiful?!! I love them. I'll have to come up with some way of wearing them, they are way too pretty to leave in a drawer somewhere (with all the rest of my beads :o)

I love them Karin, they're way too "classy" for a *humble* cabbie like me. :o) Thank you!!

Stargazer

OK ... it's been a few days (4 I believe) since an update, so here we have what I've done lately. I try to do a little each day but I'm starting to look at beading the same way I feel about backstitching: a necessary evil, with beautiful results.

I have the entire bottom skirt done, along w/most of the top and the petites looping along the bottom edge of the top. Here we have a close up of 18" of skirt, and not even the entire skirt. She turned out HUGE.
After looking at the laundry list for the St Petersburg I'm not quite sure what I'm thinking of all the beading that's going to be going on in that one. Whoa.

I did however finish one of my PIF gifts yesterday. Now I don't SO bad about not really starting them yet. You know. heh.

My love of Mira's has paid off!!!

In a beautiful way!! Look what Gill (Chewed Away) has made me for my PIF gift !!! Isn't she a beauty? I just LOVE her Gill.

Thank you SO much! All sparkly.... we all know how much a girl likes her sparkly. :o)

If you blow her up you can see the exquisite stitching Gill did. I've already put her to use with my new beading needles. (I love these smaller ones as compared to the big ones)

Beautiful Gill .... thank you!

I got an email that another person has sent me a PIF gift as well. It's a lovely week in my mail box!

And the Winners are ....

I have my 5 lovely ladies for my Pay It Forward !! ::picture me as Liza at her acceptance speech - "You love me! You Really Love Me!!" heh

Anyway ... our winners are:

1. Vanessa of Butterfly Knitter
2. Jules of Torkard Threads
3. Gill of Chewed Away
4. San of AngelSan
5. Jenn of Jenn XStitch

Let the Games begin!!!!

Here's what I have to say about this whole idea: I am glad I decided to go with the year!!!

Ladies ... just a note so you can know what (or what NOT) to expect!!

Vanessa: whatever I make you I can PROMISE it isn't going to be knitted.
Gill: whatever I make you will probably not be Xstitched as whatever I make could in no way compete with even the smallest of things that you make.
Jules: I am going to have a GOOD time making yours!! Heh
San: You intimidate me in just about everything you do, but I can't wait to make yours.
Jenn: I'm new to your blog, but I've been reading up and I already know what I'm making you.

So it's ON.

Pay it forward ... and some progress

This sounds like a good time ... Karen has this posted on her site and I decided to play along. This is an "exchange" that is much more to my speed!!

The rules are as follows:

The first five people to respond to this post (via the comments section) will get some form of "art" made by me. It will be a hand crafted item made from sewing, crocheting, drawing, or of course stitching. I will try to make the item something special just for you. After you comment, please email me your snail mail address (mmshelle01 at yahoo dot com). I'm going with a personal deadline of 365 days. So, it will be a bit of a random surprise in the mail for you, but something you can look forward to. :)

There is a catch, of course, the way this works is that if you sign up, you have to blog this as well and continue sharing.

And now, on to some progress: I finally finished this gawd AWFUL orange and have moved on to the wings. (By the by, it isn't NEAR as ... brightly colored as it is in the scan. Thankfully.) I should have just gone ahead and changed the orange. These aren't even fairly pretty oranges either. Eesh.

Anyway ... comment away all !!

Update: 11-6 4a

I now have 4 lovely ladies for my pay it forward list ... room for one more if anyone is interested!
