Does this seem as fishy to you as it does me?

I ordered (and got) these off ebay from China. Full kits (supposedly) minus decent fabric. I can't tell what they say, but I wanted 'em 'cuz they're Mira's. Right?! Well, I guess not. The one on the left is called "Peace Fairy" and the right is "Junoesque Lady". I thought maybe there was just something lost in the translation, but turns out the charts sent are original Mira charts. (Actually 1 is a copy, but still). So, are these just Mira's made in China? I don't get it. Is this legal?

I seem to remember TW talking about rights to her stuff on her blog, this seems like the same sorta situation she was speaking of.

Also, got this in the mail yesterday. Looks more "Cotton Candy" to me than "Snowflake", but hey, it's still purty. I'm not really a "girlie girl" so I don't do pink too often, but I'm sure I can find something to lay on this.

SOOOOO ... now hafta catch up on my blog reading. I MISSED YOU GUYS!!!!!

I'm not that familiar with Mira, but they certainly look like something that either Nora or MLI would come up with. I'd probably contact both, point them to this blogpost and provide them information about the seller so they can decide what to do from there. I have heard that MLI is very aggressive in protecting her copyrights, and I would bet Nora is equally active.

The fact that one is a copy of a chart is enough of a problem, and I'd go back to that seller and ask for your original chart. And then maybe file a dispute with EBay over the fact that the auctioned item was not as described?

Okay, so I didn't read quite as well as I thought I did... LOL Definitely contact Nora. Even if this distribution company is legit, the fact that you've gotten a copy rather than an original on one chart is a problem. And does the packaging say what kind of fabric is *supposed* to be there?

Those look like definite copyright violations to me. I would report them to eBay and to Mirabilia, if I were you. eBay can pull their current auctions, if they are illegal. You should write to the seller and complain. Get your money back.

Not sure about your kits, if the charts seem OK then there shoudn't be a problem really. We over here tend to stay away from E-Bay stuff from China or Hong Kong because chances are it's a bit dodgy. Him-In-Doors found a Fender guitar for $2.99 from Hong Kong once, they were willing to ship it to us for only $150 - CAN'T be right can it?? But - you've GOT your stuff and it's usable so that's great. Just be aware that there are BAD people out there willing to take your hard-earned!! x

I fell for this last year... Like looka like fragrances,t shirts, CD's etc they seem to get away with it... Has certainly put me off shopping on ebay... When I bid for them I was told the selling location was Queensland (Australia) so I wasn't too concerned... I had previously won a complete TW kit from a seller who had bought it and had never done it so I supposed (wrongly) that this again was the case. When I received the package and opened it - discovered it came from China!!!!Hmmm... I am not sure what can be done about it...

They're illegal knock-offs and unfortunately they're everywhere on eBay. The "Made in China" is a dead give-away to it being copyright violation. All of Nora's stuff is made, printed and kitted in the US.
