Have I got some pictures for you! This is 'Portlandia', the 2nd largest copper statue in the country next to the Statue of Liberty, and she is here in Portland. I just found out this thing was here just a couple of weeks ago so I decided to go down and see it during the day (I went at night and it was just downright creepy!! :o). She is 35 feet tall, would be about 50 if she was standing, supposed to be reaching down to welcome people into the building (looks like she is reaching down to snatch someone up off the street to me). I just find it somewhat fascinating that this statue isn't ... publicized more. Hm. Anyway ... here she is, I hope you enjoy her.

I never knew that was in Portland! How cool. I spent about 6 weeks in Portland last year, and evidently missed a couple of things.....
