A Little QM progress

And yet I just don't feel like I'm gettin' a whole lot done on her. But I know I'm putting in a lotta hours. Maybe it's just 'cuz it's a bigger stitch than most of the others ... shouldn't it have been DONE by now?!! :o) I am liking her quite a bit so far though.

Last weeks SBQ:

Today's SBQ was suggested by Carol (http://carolsxsblog.blogspot.com/)
and is: Do you have a favorite needlework tool that you like to work with? What is it and why do you like using it?

I had to think on this one for a bit, I don't imagine I have many "tools" that are any different than any other stitcher. But I did come up w/something I don't think I could live w/out in my stitching life; my GripIt floor stand. I bought it when I first decided I was going to start stitching again last year and just can NOT imagine how "real" stitchers live w/out it. :o) (I haven't decided if I don't consider myself a 'real stitcher' because I haven't been at it all that long again or because I haven't done anything ... astounding ... in my stitchery, like I see many others of ya'll do. :)

But really, do ya'll hold the q-snaps (or hoops) in your laps? Prop 'em up against something? Aren't they rather, unwieldy?

I posted this pic once before (and it's still just as messy!) but my GripIt is in this mess somewhere ----> and I think it's one of the handiest thing I've ever owned. I can leave it set up and ready for me for whenever I get a chance to throw a floss or two on it, or sit for hours on end w/it. :o) Definately takes up some space though. (Although it isn't as if the rest of my crafty stuff doesn't. :o)

Happy Monday all!

It's frustrating when you don't make as much progress as you think you should make - I'm in the middle of the same thing with Alhambra Garden right now.

I know what you mean. I think we become addicted to the smaller finishes, so we don't know quite how to react when the larger ones take longer. LOL.

Your Mermaid looks fantastic - the colors look so pretty on that fabric! Good choice! And I love your response about entertaining yourself!

Don't be so impatient! Knowing you it'll be finished this time next week!! It's looking really good and I love the fabric you've chosen. x

I think you're making great progress on your Mermaid.

I used to have a floor stand, but found that I never used it. Now, I just use a 6" wooden hoop, and hold it in my hand. I find it much lighter than a Q-snap.

She's coming along beautifully! That long tail does seem to take forever. Trust me it doesn't! It will end.
